What We Do:

The First Tee of Hampton Roads is a program operated by the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. Our main facility is our 55-acre Virginia Beach facility including a nine-hole walking course, driving range, putting green, short-game practice area and Learning Center/ Clubhouse.

What’s new at The First Tee of Hampton Roads

2013 Summer Camps

Hey Kids....Are you looking for the ultimate golf experience....that's also fun? The First Tee of Hampton Roads offers golf camps beginning in April during Spring Break and then weekly, beginning in June. Half day camps are open for kids ages 5-7 and full day camps for ages 8-17. The First Tee Character Education Program

Next Class Session begins the week of
May 13th, 2013 !
The First Tee Character Education and Life Skills Certification Program offers progressive levels of instruction in golf as well as important life skills in a fun outdoor setting. Each child participates in group lessons and moves through various levels of golf and life skills.

2013 Participant Opportunities

New 2013 Opportunities for Participants just added from Wells Fargo, The First Tee of Richmond, The First Tee of Brunswick County and some new National Opportunities! Teens from across the country who have demonstrated exceptional golf and leadership skills are invited by their chapter to apply for these various programs that offer life skills and leadership development, golf clinics and career exploration. 2013 Applications are now available online under Our Programs, Scholarships and then Life Skills Academies.

Get, Golf, Ready in 2013

Get, Golf, Ready is an exciting new program for Adults being offered here at The First Tee of Hampton Roads. Beginning March 14th and running for six weeks, our PGA Professional will teach this affordable instruction program for individuals wanting to learn the great game of golf. Registration is now open so sign up today.

Hours Of Operation

Hours of Operation for the Virginia Beach Facility will be Monday-Friday 9am-7:30pm. Saturday 7a-7:30p, Sunday 9a-7:30p. Please note we close the range closes at 6:30pm ahead in order to pick, thanks for your cooperation. These hours are adjusted with bad weather, so please call ahead when weather affects our area. A Program that Works

Research Validates

In a past independent research study of The First Tee, 73% of young people at participating chapters reported high confidence in their ability to do well academically and 52% credited the program fort their ability to appreciate diversity.
